CREATING A FREE WORLD IS THE CORRECT GOAL
In the 18th and 19th centuries, the theory of Liberty was spread around the world largely by the British Empire. This was a great thing. Liberty brought with it peace and prosperity.
The spread of the theory of Liberty in the world has been reversed and overwhelmed by the theory of Communism. Most of the world is now Communist or almost Communist and is dedicated to the destruction by war of America and of the freedom that it represents. Communism has brought with it war and suffering.
The correct goal of all political action is: LIBERTY FOR ALL MEN EVERYWHERE.
JOHN RUSKIN’S PERVERSION
In Part 2 of “The Future Is Calling”, Ed Griffin talks about John Ruskin teaching at Oxford in 1870. Griffin says, “He taught that those who had inherited the rich culture and traditions of the British Empire had an obligation to rule the world and make sure that all the less fortunate and stupid people had proper direction.”.
This is a very correct goal and purpose. This is to a very large degree what the British Empire was doing.
But the glorious centerpiece of “the rich culture and traditions of the British Empire” is Liberty. This is the glorious English heritage of King Arthur, Alfred the Great, and the Magna Carta.
In promoting “British tradition” and supposedly combining it with “collectivism”, Ruskin is combining opposites. They cannot be combined. Freedom cannot be combined with slavery.
THE CFR’S PERVERSION
In Part 4 of “The Future Is Calling”, Ed Griffin talks about strategy presented by CFR members. He summarizes a report called “Rebuilding America’s Defenses” published in September 2000 by a group called “The Project for The New American Century”. His summary says, “The United States is the strongest nation in the world with little fear of opposition. This is a wonderful opportunity for the American government to dominate the world for the betterment of mankind. It is our destiny and our obligation to usher in an American Peace, a Pax Americana similar to the Pax Romana of the Roman Empire. It is our destiny to do so, and we must not shrink from the challenge. We must establish our military presence in every part of the world as the visible expression of our power.”.
This is a wonderful mish-mash of confused ideas.
The main idea is the idea of bringing Liberty to the world, and using American power to do it. This in itself is a glorious and noble ideal. This is the basic appeal.
They manage to convey this thought without using the world “Liberty” or the word “freedom”. Well, they don’t really want to promote Liberty, after all. Instead, they talk about “dominating” the world, for the “betterment” of mankind. This does not sound so friendly. Maybe the rest of the world does not want to be “dominated”.
They also say “We must establish our military presence in every part of the world”. This is just plain intimidating. If we are really working to establish Liberty in the world, there should be people in other parts of the world who are willing to fight for Liberty. We can help them with weapons and supplies, if that is really needed. This is what we failed to do for Chiang Kai-shek in China in 1949. That is how we ensured the victory of Communism in China. The Russians were arming the Communists.
They say the United States has “little fear of opposition”. This is just not true.
America had a wonderful opportunity to bring Liberty to the entire world after World War II. But what did America do? America allowed Russia to continue to be Communist, and America gave China to the Communists. Thus we prepared the way for World War III, which is fast approaching.
Now here are these CFR spokesmen presenting the idea of bringing Liberty to the entire world. But they are using it to justify warmongering, mainly in the Middle East against Muslims. American foreign policy in the Middle East boils down to: “When in doubt, bomb somebody.”. With no declaration of war, of course. We routinely send weapons and supplies to bloodthirsty cutthroats who have no slightest interest in Liberty. We are not bringing Liberty to the world. We are bringing war, mayhem, and suffering to the world.
This is a nauseating perversion of the glorious and noble ideal of bringing Liberty to the world. It serves to discredit the ideal of bringing Liberty to the world. Anyone who speaks of such an ideal can now be accused of being a cruel and brutal warmonger, just like those cruel and brutal American warmongers.
